Who We Are

Peter W. Wong Associates and INTERVEST-Mortgage Investment Co. joined forces in 2004 to serve commercial real estate owners with their financing needs, focusing on the Puget Sound region and all of Washington State. These companies, both with local lineages dating back to the 1980’s, bring expertise and experience to the broad arena of commercial real estate finance. Together, we form a full service mortgage operation – able to provide financing for every stage of real estate: development, construction, interim and permanent lending. We also provide financing for renovations, acquisitions and refinances.

For decades, INTERVEST, a subsidiary of Sterling Savings Bank, has provided construction and bridge financing for new or redeveloped commercial properties. In 1994, Peter W. Wong Associates was founded on long-established mortgage banking traditions and well-developed correspondent relationships with many of the most active life insurance company lenders who have traditionally provided long term or permanent financing nationwide. Both firms also procure permanent financing for their clients through other institutional lending sources.

Peter W. Wong Associates and INTERVEST form a “one-stop shop” that enables their merged operations to provide virtually any type of financing to commercial real estate developers and investors for their properties. We take pride in finding the right lender to meet your needs.

INTERVEST has five offices covering the three Pacific Coast states. Our most recent expansion was the 2006 Northern California merger/acquisition of Mason-McDuffie Financial Corporation, a highly regarded commercial mortgage company whose history dates back to 1887.

For three years running through 2007, annual total loan production for INTERVEST was between $1.0 and $1.5 billion. Company-wide, we have a construction and bridge portfolio of $1.5 billion as well as a separate servicing portfolio for our life insurance company lenders of another $1.5 billion, for a total of $3.0 billion. Of that, Peter W. Wong Associates services from our Seattle office $785 million for 13 correspondent national and international life insurance companies.
