Kirkland, Washington

Peter Wong, Principal

Peter’s career in commercial real estate mortgage lending spans 30 years. In 2004, he merged his 10-year old mortgage company, Peter W. Wong Associates, Inc., with INTERVEST. His firm brought into the merger over a dozen life insurance company lender relationships with a servicing portfolio of $380 million. Under his leadership, in its first year of combined operations, the Seattle office originated over $720 million in new financing and increased the company’s servicing portfolio to over $750 million. As a result of his experience here, Peter is well respected both in Seattle real estate circles and within the national institutional lending community. His prior experience includes five years as a Senior Loan Officer with Standard Insurance Company (now StanCorp Mortgage Investors) and 13 years as the Pacific Northwest manager of Barry S. Slatt Mortgage Company, a Western regional mortgage banking firm.

Peter is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Washington and member of the MBA and ICSC. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona with dual majors in Finance and Real Estate.

Jeff Coats, Vice President / Assistant Regional Manager

Jeff’s entire professional career has been in commercial real estate finance here in the Pacific Northwest. Over the past 19 years, Jeff has developed relationships with a number of institutional lenders throughout the United States. He joined INTERVEST in 1994 and has consistently been a top producer. His average annual production exceeds $200 million. Jeff was formerly a commercial real estate loan originator with Washington Mutual and Vice President/Income Property Loan Officer with its predecessor Pacific First Bank.

Jeff is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University where he received honors in Finance and Management. He has a background in architecture and construction. His memberships include the ICSC and the MBA. He was the Chair for the MBA’s Seattle Chapter/Income Property Finance Committee for two years.

Matt Couch, Vice President

Matt has experience in commercial real estate acquisition, development and investment in the Puget Sound and San Francisco Bay areas. He has consulted for a national real estate lender, working with income producing real estate investments and special credit properties. On a smaller scale, he has worked in acquisitions and asset management for a family-owned commercial real estate investment firm. Matt has been with the firm since 2002 and placed an average of $50 million in permanent financings in 2005-2006, mainly with our correspondent life company lenders.

Matt has an MBA from Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management, and is an associate member of the ULI.

Kevin Entner, Vice President

Kevin Entner has been working in commercial real estate finance since 1997. Kevin joined the INTERVEST team in 2003 as a Vice President and Income Property Loan Officer, originating construction and permanent loans for our own portfolio, as well as placing permanent loans in the capital markets. Prior to joining INTERVEST, Kevin worked in the Real Estate Group of Bank of America as a Vice President and Relationship Manager.

Kevin received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Montana State University, and has a Master of Science in Finance from Seattle University.

Lee Graevé, Vice President

Lee joined INTERVEST in 2000. Lee’s experience in commercial real estate finance dates back to 1976, when he was Vice President at BA Mortgage (Bank of America) managing the Dallas branch office. He later transferred to the San Francisco corporate headquarters and into production, providing construction loans and placement of permanent loans with life companies on behalf of the development/investment community. His extensive mortgage banking activities have enabled Lee to establish relationships with a variety of other financial institutions nationwide. Prior to joining INTERVEST, he was Vice President for National Mortgage Co. Lee was also formerly a Vice President at Pacific First Bank (now Washington Mutual).

Lee is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Washington. His memberships include the ICSC, NAIOP and the MBA.

John Lo, Vice President

Since 1994, John has built his commercial real estate and mortgage lending experience as a construction lender, an investment banker, an acquisition officer and an asset manager. Prior to joining Peter W. Wong Associates / INTERVEST, John was a Vice President with Wells Fargo Real Estate Group and Eastdil Realty, LLC. He has also held positions at Clarion – ING (formerly JLWRA). Throughout his career, John has recapitalized, acquired or managed over $4 billion in commercial real estate asset value.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, John graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance, Real Property Development and Management.

Boyd Smith, Vice President

Boyd Smith has worked for three Fortune 500 companies – Coca-Cola, AON and Safeco – with responsibilities including merchandising, surety underwriter, and sales manager for Central Washington. His clients ranged from small retail stores to large operations such as Microsoft, Nike, Costco and Paccar. More recently, Boyd was a Loan Officer and Senior Analyst for Symetra Life Insurance Company (an INTERVEST Lender). Boyd left Symetra to create a land development firm in 2006. As a principal of that firm, Boyd was responsible for the entitlement of raw land, dealing directly with lenders, builders, municipalities, engineers, architects, real estate agents and more. The process was exciting and challenging, but Boyd now looks forward to growing within the stability of Peter W. Wong Associates and INTERVEST.

Boyd graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a minor in Communications.

Spokane, Washington

Mark Rehn, Vice President

Mark has been a commercial lender in the Pacific Northwest since 1999. He has originated loans for senior housing, condominiums, mobile home parks, restaurants, apartments, office buildings, retail centers, hotels and historic buildings.

Mark has a Bachelor's degree in Business Finance and a minor in Economics from Eastern Washington University, and a Masters in Management from Whitworth College.
